This tool calculates your daily calorie needs based on your specific personal information.
How to use this calculator:
Simply fill in your age, gender, weight, height, and choose your activity level. Click the ‘Calculate’ button to get your daily calorie needs.
How it calculates the results:
This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is then multiplied by an activity factor to determine your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE).
Mifflin-St Jeor Equation:
- For men: BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) – 5 * age + 5
- For women: BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) – 5 * age – 161
The activity factors are:
- Sedentary: BMR * 1.2
- Lightly active: BMR * 1.375
- Moderately active: BMR * 1.55
- Very active: BMR * 1.725
- Super active: BMR * 1.9
Limitations:
This calculator provides estimates that can vary based on individual differences. Always consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
