This tool helps you calculate your daily calorie needs and set a goal date to achieve your target weight.
How to Use the Calorie Calculator
This calorie calculator helps you determine your daily caloric needs and the desired caloric intake to reach your goal weight by a specified date.
- Age: Enter your age.
- Gender: Select your gender.
- Weight: Enter your current weight in kilograms.
- Height: Enter your height in centimeters.
- Activity Level: Select your level of physical activity.
- Goal Weight: Enter your target weight in kilograms.
- Goal Date: Select the future date by which you aim to achieve your goal weight.
How it Calculates
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which represents the number of calories your body needs at rest. It then multiplies your BMR by an activity factor to estimate your daily caloric needs based on your activity level.
Next, it calculates the total caloric change required to achieve your target weight using the formula: 1 kg = 7700 calories. It then spreads this total caloric change over the number of days until your goal date to determine the daily caloric change required. Your desired daily caloric intake is then calculated by adjusting your daily caloric needs by this daily caloric change.
Limitations
Please note that this calculator provides an estimate. Individual caloric needs can vary due to factors like muscle mass, metabolism, and specific lifestyle conditions. Always consult with a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet or activity level.
