This tool helps you calculate the amount of paver base you need for your project.
This paver base calculator helps you determine the amount of material needed for your paver project.
How to use the calculator:
- Enter the length of the area in feet.
- Enter the width of the area in feet.
- Enter the depth of the base in inches.
- Enter the compaction factor. For example, use 1.2 for 20% compaction.
- Click on the “Calculate” button to get the amount of material needed in cubic yards.
Calculation method:
The calculator computes the volume by multiplying the length, width, and depth (converted to feet). It then divides by 27 to convert the volume from cubic feet to cubic yards. The result is multiplied by the compaction factor to account for the material settling.
Formula: Volume (yd³) = (Length (ft) * Width (ft) * Depth (in) / 12) / 27 * Compaction Factor
Limitations:
This calculator provides an estimate. Actual materials needed may vary based on the compaction and site conditions. Always consider purchasing a bit more material than the estimate to ensure you have enough.
