This tool helps you calculate the amount of soil needed for your raised garden bed.
How to Use the Soil Calculator
To use this soil calculator, enter the length, width, and depth of your raised bed. Choose the type of soil you plan to use from the dropdown menu. Click the “Calculate” button to get the result.
How It Calculates
The calculator first converts the depth from inches to feet. It calculates the volume in cubic feet using the formula:
Volume (cubic feet) = Length (feet) * Width (feet) * Depth (feet)
This volume is then used to estimate the amount of soil required for your raised bed.
Limitations
This calculator assumes the bed is a perfect rectangle and does not account for irregular shapes. It also does not differentiate between different densities of soil types, providing only a rough estimate.
