Electrical Estimator – Accurate Project Cost Calculator

This tool estimates your electrical installation costs based on the components and specifications you provide.

Electrical Estimator Calculator

How to Use the Electrical Estimator Calculator:

Enter the distance in meters between the power source and the load. Input the operating voltage in volts and the current in amps. Select the wire material used in your circuit: Copper or Aluminum. Choose whether your system is Single Phase or Three Phase. Provide the power factor of your system, which is a number between 0 and 1.

Click “Calculate” to find the percentage voltage drop over the distance provided. The result will be displayed in the Result field.

Explanation of the Calculation:

The calculator computes the voltage drop based on the following steps:

  1. Calculate the resistance of the wire over the given distance.
  2. Determine the phase factor (1 for Single Phase, &sqrt;3 for Three Phase).
  3. Compute the voltage drop using the formula: Voltage Drop = (Current * Resistance) / Power Factor.
  4. Adjust the voltage drop based on the phase.
  5. Calculate the percentage voltage drop relative to the operating voltage.

Limitations:

This calculator assumes standard conditions and may not account for specific factors such as temperature or additional resistance from connectors. Always consult a professional electrician for precise electrical assessment.
