BSR Estimator – Accurate Sales Rank Calculator

This tool will help you estimate the Best Seller Rank (BSR) for your product on Amazon.

How to Use the BSR Estimator

1. Input your weight in kilograms.
2. Input your height in centimeters.
3. Input your age in years.
4. Select your gender.
5. Choose your activity level from the dropdown menu.
6. Select your weight goal: whether you want to maintain, lose, or gain weight.
7. Click the “Calculate” button to see your daily caloric needs in the “Result” field.

How the BSR Estimator Calculates Results

The calculator first calculates your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation:

  • For men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 * weight) + (4.799 * height) – (5.677 * age)
  • For women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 * weight) + (3.098 * height) – (4.330 * age)
The BMR is then adjusted based on your activity level:
  • Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR * 1.2
  • Light: exercise/sports 1-3 days/week: BMR * 1.375
  • Moderate: exercise/sports 3-5 days/week: BMR * 1.55
  • Active: exercise/sports 6-7 days a week: BMR * 1.725
  • Very active: very hard exercise/sports & physical job: BMR * 1.9
Finally, the calculator adjusts for your weight goal:
  • To maintain weight: no additional adjustment
  • To lose weight: subtract 500 calories from your total daily calories
  • To gain weight: add 500 calories to your total daily calories

Limitations

The BSR (Basal Metabolic Rate) estimator provides an estimate of your daily caloric needs based on the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation. It does not account for body composition (i.e., muscle vs fat), medical conditions, extreme physical activity, or other individual factors that might affect your metabolism. Always consult with a healthcare provider for a comprehensive assessment of your caloric needs.
