Obs Estimator – Accurate Calculator Tool

This tool estimates your potential Objective Performance Scores (OBS) based on your inputted data.

OBS Estimator Instructions

This calculator helps you estimate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), which represents the number of calories you need to consume daily to maintain your current weight.

How to Use:

  1. Enter your age in years.
  2. Enter your weight in kilograms (kg).
  3. Enter your height in centimeters (cm).
  4. Select your daily activity level from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the ‘Calculate’ button to get your estimated TDEE.

How it Calculates:

The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation, which estimates your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) based on your age, weight, and height. It then multiplies your BMR by an activity factor that corresponds to the activity level you selected, giving you your TDEE.

Mifflin-St Jeor Equation:

  • For men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 * weight in kg) + (4.799 * height in cm) – (5.677 * age in years)
  • For women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 * weight in kg) + (3.098 * height in cm) – (4.330 * age in years)

TDEE = BMR * Activity Level

Limitations:

This calculator provides an estimate of your TDEE and may not be 100% accurate for everyone. Factors such as muscle mass, metabolic rate variations, and more can affect the actual number of calories you require. It is always best to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.

Use Cases for This Calculator

Calculate Observed Standard Deviation

Enter the sample data values into the calculator to get the observed standard deviation. This will help you determine how spread out your data points are from the mean.

Find Observed Mean

Input your data values to find the observed mean. This will give you the average value of your data set, essential for further statistical analysis.

Calculate Sample Size

By entering the number of data values, you can easily calculate the sample size using the Obs Estimator. This is crucial for conducting accurate statistical tests.

Evaluate Coefficient of Variation

Calculate the coefficient of variation by inputting the observed standard deviation and the mean. This metric helps you compare variability between different data sets.

Determine Z-Score

Input the data value, observed mean, and standard deviation to find the Z-score. This will help you understand how a particular data point compares to the mean in terms of standard deviations.

Calculate Skewness and Kurtosis

Use the Obs Estimator to calculate the skewness and kurtosis of your data set. These statistics provide insights into the shape and distribution of your data.

Compare Two Sets of Data

Enter the statistics of two data sets to compare their means, standard deviations, and significance levels. This analysis will help you draw meaningful conclusions between the two sets.

Generate Histogram

Input your data values to automatically generate a histogram using the Obs Estimator. Visualizing the distribution of your data can provide valuable insights at a glance.

Perform Hypothesis Testing

Input the required data and statistical parameters to perform hypothesis testing with the Obs Estimator. Determine the significance of results and make informed decisions based on statistical analysis.

Analyze Correlation Coefficient

Input paired data sets to calculate the correlation coefficient. This will help you understand the relationship between variables and make predictions based on the strength and direction of correlation.
