How to Use the GPA Estimator

This GPA Estimator helps you calculate your Grade Point Average based on the grades and credits of your courses.

To use this calculator:

  • Enter the grade you received for each course in the corresponding “Course Grade” field. Use letter grades such as A, B, C, D, or F.
  • Enter the number of credit hours for each course in the corresponding “Course Credits” field.
  • Click the “Calculate” button to see your results.

How the GPA Estimator Works

The GPA Estimator multiplies the grade points equivalent of your letter grade by the number of credit hours for each course to get the total points.

It then adds all the total points together and divides this sum by the total number of credit hours to calculate the Grade Point Average (GPA).

For reference, the grade points are as follows:

  • A = 4.0
  • B = 3.0
  • C = 2.0
  • D = 1.0
  • F = 0.0

Limitations

This calculator assumes that all courses are equally weighted and that grades are awarded on a simple A-F scale without plusses or minuses. Please check with your institution for the exact calculation methods they use, as they might differ slightly.
