How It Calculates the Results

The calculator uses the following formulas to determine the total calories:

  • Protein Calories: Volume (mL) * Protein Concentration (%) * 4 kcal/g
  • Dextrose Calories: Volume (mL) * Dextrose Concentration (%) * 3.4 kcal/g
  • Lipid Calories: Volume (mL) * Lipid Concentration (%) * 9 kcal/g

The total calories are a sum of the protein, dextrose, and lipid calories.
