How To Use The Calorie Calculator
To use this calculator, input the following data:
- Quantity: Enter the amount of food in grams.
- Carbohydrates: Enter the amount of carbohydrates per 100 grams of the food.
- Proteins: Enter the amount of proteins per 100 grams of the food.
- Fats: Enter the amount of fats per 100 grams of the food.
- Click the “Calculate” button to get the total calories.
How It Calculates
The calculator computes the total number of calories using the following formula:
- Calories from Carbohydrates: (Carbs per 100g / 100) * Quantity * 4
- Calories from Proteins: (Proteins per 100g / 100) * Quantity * 4
- Calories from Fats: (Fats per 100g / 100) * Quantity * 9
The results from each macronutrient are added together to get the total calorie count.
Calculator Limitations
While this calculator is a useful tool to estimate calories, it has some limitations:
- It assumes all macronutrients are digested and absorbed in the same way.
- It does not consider other components of food like fiber, which can affect overall calorie absorption.
- The quality and type of food can also impact the actual calorie content and absorption.
