This tool calculates the number of calories you need daily based on your activity level.
Calorie Calculator
This calorie calculator estimates the number of calories you need to consume each day to maintain your current weight. It factors in various parameters such as age, gender, weight, height, and activity level to provide a comprehensive calculation.
How to Use
- Enter your age in the age field.
- Select your gender from the dropdown menu.
- Input your weight in kilograms (kg).
- Input your height in centimeters (cm).
- Select your activity level from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the “Calculate” button to see the result.
How it Calculates
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR):
- For men: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (years) + 5
- For women: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (years) – 161
The BMR value is then multiplied by an activity factor based on your activity level:
- Sedentary (little or no exercise): 1.2
- Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): 1.375
- Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): 1.55
- Active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): 1.725
- Very active (very hard exercise/sports & a physical job): 1.9
Limitations
This calculator provides an estimate of calorie needs based on the provided parameters. Individual needs may vary based on factors such as metabolism, health conditions, and specific fitness goals. For precise dietary planning, consulting a healthcare professional or a dietitian is recommended.
