This calorie calculator helps you determine the number of calories you need daily to reach your fitness goals.

How to Use the Calorie Calculator

This calorie calculator helps you estimate the number of calories you need to maintain your current weight based on your personal data and daily activity level. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Enter your age in the Age field.
  2. Select your gender from the Gender dropdown.
  3. Enter your current weight in kilograms in the Weight field.
  4. Enter your height in centimeters in the Height field.
  5. Select your daily activity level from the Activity Level dropdown.
  6. Click the Calculate button to see your estimated daily calorie needs.

How It Calculates the Results

The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is the number of calories your body needs at rest to maintain vital functions. The equation differs slightly for males and females:

  • For males: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 * weight in kg) + (4.799 * height in cm) – (5.677 * age in years)
  • For females: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 * weight in kg) + (3.098 * height in cm) – (4.330 * age in years)

Once your BMR is calculated, it is adjusted based on your activity level using the following multipliers:

  • Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR * 1.2
  • Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): BMR * 1.375
  • Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): BMR * 1.55
  • Active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): BMR * 1.725
  • Very active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job): BMR * 1.9

Limitations

Please note that this calculator provides an estimate based on population averages and common activity levels. Actual calorie needs may vary due to individual differences in metabolism, muscle mass, and other factors.
