This tool helps you calculate the number of calories you need to cut to reach your weight loss goal.

Calorie Cutting Calculator

How to Use the Calorie Cutting Calculator

To use this calculator, fill in all the required fields: your current weight, height, age, gender, activity level, weight loss goal, and the time you want to reach your goal in weeks. Once all the fields are filled, click the “Calculate” button to see your results.

How It Calculates the Results

The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR):

  • For Men: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (y) + 5
  • For Women: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (y) – 161

Then, it adjusts the BMR based on your activity level to calculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).

  • Sedentary: TDEE = BMR * 1.2
  • Lightly active: TDEE = BMR * 1.375
  • Moderately active: TDEE = BMR * 1.55
  • Very active: TDEE = BMR * 1.725
  • Extra active: TDEE = BMR * 1.9

To determine your daily caloric deficit, it divides your weight loss goal by the time in weeks, converts it to a caloric deficit per day (1 kg of body weight is equivalent to approximately 7700 calories), and subtracts this from your TDEE.
