How to Use the Calorie Counter

This calorie counter helps breastfeeding mothers estimate their daily calorie needs based on their weight, height, age, days postpartum, and activity level.

Instructions:

  2. Enter your height in centimeters (cm).
  3. Enter your age in years.
  4. Enter the number of days since you gave birth.
  5. Select your activity level from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click the “Calculate” button to get your results.

How It Calculates:

The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is the number of calories your body needs to perform basic functions at rest. It then multiplies your BMR by the selected activity level to estimate the calories you burn through physical activity. Finally, it adds additional calories required for breastfeeding (500 calories for fewer than 6 months postpartum, 400 calories for 6 months or more) to give you the total daily calorie needs.

Limitations:
