How It Calculates
The calculation is based on the MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) value which varies with the intensity level of the exercise. For low intensity, the MET value is approximately 3.5, for moderate intensity it is approximately 7.0, and for high intensity it is approximately 11.0. The formula used is:
Calories Burned = ((10 * weight) + (6.25 * height) – (5 * age) + (5 for male, -161 for female)) * (MET / 1.75) * (duration / 60)
