This calorie calculator helps you estimate the number of calories you need to maintain your current weight based on your personal information and activity level.

How It Calculates:
The calculator uses the Harris-Benedict Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is the number of calories your body needs to perform basic life-sustaining functions. The equation differs for men and women:
- For men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 * weight) + (4.799 * height) – (5.677 * age)
- For women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 * weight) + (3.098 * height) – (4.330 * age)
The BMR is then multiplied by an Activity Factor to account for your lifestyle:
- Sedentary: BMR * 1.2 (little or no exercise)
- Lightly active: BMR * 1.375 (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week)
- Moderately active: BMR * 1.55 (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week)
- Very active: BMR * 1.725 (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week)
- Super active: BMR * 1.9 (very hard exercise/sports & physical job)
Limitations:
This calculator provides an estimate and should not replace professional medical advice. Caloric needs can vary based on numerous factors not considered in this calculator.
