This tool calculates the number of calories you need each day based on your personal information and activity level.

- Select your gender from the Gender dropdown menu.
- Enter your weight in kilograms in the Weight field.
- Enter your height in centimeters in the Height field.
- Select your activity level from the Activity Level dropdown menu.

How it Works
This calculator uses the Harris-Benedict equations to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is the number of calories your body needs at rest. Then it multiplies the BMR by an activity factor based on your selected activity level. The formula differs slightly based on gender:
- For men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 x weight in kg) + (4.799 x height in cm) – (5.677 x age in years)
- For women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 x weight in kg) + (3.098 x height in cm) – (4.330 x age in years)
It then multiplies the BMR by the activity factor to get the daily calorie intake:
- Sedentary: BMR x 1.2
- Light: BMR x 1.375
- Moderate: BMR x 1.55
- Active: BMR x 1.725
- Very active: BMR x 1.9
Limitations
This calculator provides an estimate and should not be used as a definitive measure of your daily calorie needs. Factors such as muscle mass, overall health, and metabolic efficiency are not accounted for in these calculations. Consult with a healthcare provider for a more personalized assessment of your dietary needs.
