This tool helps you calculate the number of calories you need based on your weight in kilograms.
Calorie Calculator Explanation
This calorie calculator uses your weight, height, age, gender, and activity level to determine your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
How to Use
- Enter your weight in kilograms in the “Weight” field.
- Enter your height in centimeters in the “Height” field.
- Enter your age in years in the “Age” field.
- Select your gender from the “Gender” dropdown menu.
- Select your activity level from the “Activity Level” dropdown menu.
- Click the “Calculate” button to see the results.
How It Calculates
The calculator first determines your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation:
- For men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 * weight in kg) + (4.799 * height in cm) – (5.677 * age in years)
- For women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 * weight in kg) + (3.098 * height in cm) – (4.330 * age in years)
After calculating BMR, it multiplies this value by a factor based on your activity level to get your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
Limitations
This calculator provides estimates and averages based on standard equations and might not be 100% accurate for every individual. It does not account for muscle mass, medical conditions, or other unique personal factors. For more personalized advice, consider consulting a healthcare or fitness professional.
