Use this tool to estimate your daily calorie needs based on your personal information and activity level.
How to Use the Calorie Calculator
Fill in your age, weight, height, gender, and activity level into the given fields. Click on the “Calculate” button to get the estimated daily calorie requirement for your body.
How the Calculator Works
This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is adjusted for physical activity to estimate daily calorie needs:
- For men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 × weight in kg) + (4.799 × height in cm) – (5.677 × age in years)
- For women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 × weight in kg) + (3.098 × height in cm) – (4.330 × age in years)
To get the daily calorie requirement, BMR is multiplied by the activity level factor:
- Sedentary: BMR × 1.2
- Lightly active: BMR × 1.375
- Moderately active: BMR × 1.55
- Active: BMR × 1.725
- Very active: BMR × 1.9
Limitations
Please note that this calculator provides an estimation. Individual calorie needs can vary based on many factors, including metabolic health, muscle mass, and specific goals (e.g., weight gain, weight loss). Consult with a healthcare provider or a dietitian for more personalized advice.
