Use this calorie calculator to quickly find out how many calories you need each day to reach your goals.
How to Use the Calorie Calculator
To use the calorie calculator, enter your age, gender, height in centimeters, weight in kilograms, and select your typical activity level from the dropdown menu. Click the “Calculate” button to compute your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and your Maintenance Calories.
How it Calculates the Results
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to compute the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). It calculates the BMR based on the following formulas:
- For men: BMR = 10 * weight + 6.25 * height – 5 * age + 5
- For women: BMR = 10 * weight + 6.25 * height – 5 * age – 161
The Maintenance Calories is then calculated by multiplying the BMR with the activity factor chosen in the activity level dropdown.
Limitations
It is important to note that this calculator provides an estimate based on average values and may not be accurate for everyone. Individuals with specific health conditions or other physiological factors should consult with a healthcare provider for tailored advice.
