- Provide your height in centimeters in the ‘Height’ field.
- Select your gender using the dropdown menu.
- Select your typical daily activity level from the ‘Activity Level’ dropdown menu.

How It Calculates
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation to estimate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and then multiplies it by an activity factor based on your selected activity level. The BMR calculation differs between males and females as follows:
For males: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (years) + 5
For females: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (years) – 161
These BMR values are then multiplied by an activity factor to estimate your total daily calorie needs. The activity factors are:
- Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR * 1.2
- Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): BMR * 1.375
- Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): BMR * 1.55
- Very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): BMR * 1.725
- Super active (very hard exercise/sports & a physical job): BMR * 1.9
