This tool calculates the number of calories burned based on your activity and temperature conditions.
How to Use the Calorie Calculator
This calorie calculator helps you estimate the number of calories you need to consume each day based on various factors. Simply fill out the form with your age, gender, weight, height, and activity level. Then, click the “Calculate” button to see your results.
How It Works
The calculator uses the Harris-Benedict equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which represents the calories your body needs at rest to maintain vital functions. The BMR is then multiplied by your activity level to estimate your total daily caloric needs.
Equations Used
For males: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (years) + 5
For females: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (years) – 161
Activity Levels:
- Sedentary (little or no exercise): 1.2
- Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): 1.375
- Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): 1.55
- Very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): 1.725
- Super active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training): 1.9
Limitations
Please note that this calculator provides an estimate based on the Harris-Benedict equation and should not be considered a substitute for professional medical advice. Various factors such as muscle mass, medical conditions, and metabolism may influence your actual caloric needs.
