Calorie Calculator Weight Watchers

This calculator helps you determine the number of calories you need to consume daily based on your personal information and activity level.

How to Use

To use the calculator, input your:

  • Age in years
  • Weight in kilograms
  • Height in centimeters
  • Gender
  • Activity level (from the dropdown menu)

After entering all the required information, click “Calculate” to see the results. The results will include your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) which is the number of calories your body needs to perform basic functions at rest, and the total number of calories you need to maintain your current weight based on your activity level.

Details of Calculation

The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for calculating BMR:

  • For males: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 x weight) + (4.799 x height) – (5.677 x age)
  • For females: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 x weight) + (3.098 x height) – (4.330 x age)

The total calories needed are calculated by multiplying your BMR by your activity level factor:

  • Sedentary: BMR x 1.2
  • Lightly active: BMR x 1.375
  • Moderately active: BMR x 1.55
  • Very active: BMR x 1.725
  • Extra active: BMR x 1.9

Limitations

Note that this calculator provides an estimate and should be used as a guideline. Individual needs can vary based on several factors, including muscle mass, overall health, and specific fitness goals. For more detailed and personalized information, consider consulting a healthcare provider or a nutritionist.
