This tool helps you calculate the calories in the food images you upload.
How to Use the Calorie Counter Calculator
To use this calorie counter, please input your gender, age, weight, and height. Select your typical daily activity level from the dropdown menu. Click on the “Calculate” button to get your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and your estimated daily caloric needs based on your activity level.
How It Calculates
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate BMR:
- For males: BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) – 5 * age(years) + 5
- For females: BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) – 5 * age(years) – 161
Then, it multiplies the BMR by an activity multiplier based on the selected activity level:
- Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR * 1.2
- Light Activity (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): BMR * 1.375
- Moderate Activity (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): BMR * 1.55
- Active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): BMR * 1.725
- Very Active (very hard exercise/sports and a physical job): BMR * 1.9
Limitations
Please note that this calculator provides an estimation and not an exact number. Factors such as muscle mass, metabolism, and overall health can affect caloric needs. Consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
