This tool helps you track your daily calorie intake easily and accurately.
Calorie Counter Explanation
This calorie counter helps you determine the number of calories you need daily based on your personal parameters and goals.
How to Use
- Enter your age.
- Select your gender.
- Input your weight in kilograms.
- Input your height in centimeters.
- Choose your activity level from the drop-down menu.
- Select your goal whether you want to maintain, lose, or gain weight.
- Click the ‘Calculate’ button to get the results.
Calculation Method
The calculator uses the Harris-Benedict equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is the number of calories your body needs at rest. The activity level you select adjusts this number to account for your daily activities.
- BMR for men: 88.362 + (13.397 * weight in kg) + (4.799 * height in cm) – (5.677 * age in years)
- BMR for women: 447.593 + (9.247 * weight in kg) + (3.098 * height in cm) – (4.330 * age in years)
Your total daily caloric requirement is adjusted by multiplying your BMR by an activity multiplier based on your activity level. If you want to lose weight, the calculator subtracts 500 calories from your maintenance calories. To gain weight, it adds 500 calories.
Limitations
While this calculator provides a good estimate of your daily caloric needs, it does not take into account all possible factors. Individual energy expenditure can vary due to metabolic differences, muscle mass, and other unique factors. Consult with a healthcare or dietary professional for personalized advice.
