How It Works
To use the calorie counter, input your age, gender, weight, height, and select your activity level. After filling in all the fields, click the “Calculate” button to get your daily calorie needs.
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation:
- For men: BMR = 10 x weight(kg) + 6.25 x height(cm) – 5 x age(y) + 5
- For women: BMR = 10 x weight(kg) + 6.25 x height(cm) – 5 x age(y) – 161
It then multiplies your BMR by an activity factor:
- Sedentary: BMR x 1.2
- Lightly Active: BMR x 1.375
- Moderately Active: BMR x 1.55
- Very Active: BMR x 1.725
- Super Active: BMR x 1.9
Limitations
This calculator provides estimated values and does not consider individual variations in metabolism or other health conditions. It’s best used as a general guideline.
