How It Calculates:

This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and then multiplies it by an activity factor to estimate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE). The formulas used are:

  • For men: BMR = 10 * weight + 6.25 * height – 5 * age + 5
  • For women: BMR = 10 * weight + 6.25 * height – 5 * age – 161

Your BMR is then multiplied by the activity factor you selected to give your TDEE.
