How to Use This Calculator

This cement yardage calculator helps you determine the amount of cement needed for a rectangular slab. To use the calculator, enter the length and width of the area in feet, and the thickness of the slab in inches. Then, click ‘Calculate’ to see the volume in cubic feet and cubic yards.

How It Calculates the Results

The formula used for calculation is straightforward:

  • Volume in Cubic Feet = Length (feet) x Width (feet) x Thickness (feet)
  • Volume in Cubic Yards = Volume in Cubic Feet ÷ 27

Note that the thickness entered in inches is converted to feet by dividing by 12 since 12 inches make up 1 foot. The total volume in cubic feet is then divided by 27 because one cubic yard is equivalent to 27 cubic feet.

Limitations

This calculator is designed for rectangular shaped slabs only and assumes all inputs are positive numbers. For accurate real-world calculations, consider any additional factors like waste, spillage, or variations in slab dimensions.
