How to Use the Calorie Calculator

Calculation:
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). The equations are:
- For men: BMR = (10 * weight in kg) + (6.25 * height in cm) – (5 * age in years) + 5
- For women: BMR = (10 * weight in kg) + (6.25 * height in cm) – (5 * age in years) – 161
Your BMR is then multiplied by an Activity Multiplier based on your chosen activity level:
- Sedentary: BMR x 1.2
- Lightly active: BMR x 1.375
- Moderately active: BMR x 1.55
- Very active: BMR x 1.725
- Extra active: BMR x 1.9
Limitations:
This calculator provides an estimate based on general formulas. Individual needs can vary based on additional factors such as muscle mass, health conditions, and specific fitness goals.
