Concrete Sidewalk Cost Calculator – Quick Estimates

This tool calculates the total cost of your concrete sidewalk project including materials and labor.

How to Use the Concrete Sidewalk Cost Calculator

Follow the steps below to use this calculator effectively:

  • Enter the length of the sidewalk in feet.
  • Enter the width of the sidewalk in feet.
  • Enter the thickness of the sidewalk in inches.
  • Enter the price per cubic yard of concrete in dollars.
  • Enter the cost of reinforcement materials in dollars.
  • Enter the hourly labor cost in dollars.
  • Enter the number of hours required for the labor.
  • Click on “Calculate” to see the total cost of the sidewalk.

How It Calculates the Results

This calculator uses the following formulas to calculate the total cost:

  1. First, it calculates the volume of concrete required in cubic feet using the formula:
Volume (cubic feet) = Length (feet) * Width (feet) * (Thickness (inches) / 12)
  2. Next, it converts the volume from cubic feet to cubic yards by dividing by 27:
Volume (cubic yards) = Volume (cubic feet) / 27
  3. It then calculates the material cost:
Material Cost = Volume (cubic yards) * Price per Cubic Yard
  4. It adds the reinforcement cost.
  5. It calculates the total labor cost:
Total Labor Cost = Labor Cost per Hour * Hours of Labor
  6. Finally, it sums up the material cost, reinforcement cost, and total labor cost to get the total cost.

Limitations

Please note the following limitations:

  • The calculator assumes a flat, rectangular area for the sidewalk. It may not be accurate for more complex shapes.
  • Prices of materials and labor can vary significantly by region and over time. This calculator uses the input values you provide but does not account for any unforeseen expenses or variations.
  • Reinforcement cost is added as a fixed amount; ensure you have the correct value for your specific project.
