How to Use the Calculator
To use this calculator, fill in all the fields with your appropriate measurements. For activity level, choose the category that best describes your daily activity level. After filling in all the fields, press the “Calculate” button. Your result, indicating your BMI, Body Fat %, and TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure), will be displayed.
Explanation of Calculations
BMI: Body Mass Index is calculated as (weight in pounds / (height in inches * height in inches)) * 703.
Body Fat %: This is estimated using the U.S. Navy method taking into account waist, neck, and in the case of females, hip measurements.
TDEE: Total Daily Energy Expenditure is calculated by first estimating your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation, which is then multiplied by an activity factor corresponding to your activity level.
Limitations
This calculator provides estimates that may not be accurate for everyone. Results can vary especially if you have an atypical body composition. For medical advice and comprehensive health analysis, always consult a healthcare professional.
