How It Calculates Results
The calculator computes the cubic yards by multiplying the length, width, and height to find the cubic footage and then divides that number by 27 (since there are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard).
Limitations of the Calculator
This cubic yard calculator assumes that the entered measurements are in feet and that the space is perfectly cubic or rectangular. If the shape is irregular, if the measurements are in other units, or if there are any obstructions, the calculator won’t be accurate. It also doesn’t take compaction into account, which can affect the total amount of material needed.
