How to Use the Drywall Estimator

To use the estimator, fill in the following fields:

  • Length of Wall: Enter the length of the wall in feet.
  • Height of Wall: Enter the height of the wall in feet.
  • Number of Windows: Enter the total number of windows on the wall.
  • Number of Doors: Enter the total number of doors on the wall.
  • Average Window Area: Enter the average area of a window in square feet.
  • Average Door Area: Enter the average area of a door in square feet.
  • Drywall Sheet Coverage: Enter the coverage area of a drywall sheet in square feet.

After entering the required values, click the “Calculate” button to see the results. The estimator will compute the total wall area, the total areas of windows and doors, and the net wall area after subtracting the windows and doors. It will then calculate the number of drywall sheets needed based on the inputted coverage per sheet.

Estimator Limitations

This estimator assumes that all windows and doors have the same area as specified in their respective fields. Make sure to measure and input the correct area for more accurate results. Also, while the calculator rounds up to the nearest whole number for the number of drywall sheets, account for potential cutting waste and buying extra sheets as a buffer.
