How to Use the Drywall Square Foot Calculator
This calculator is designed to help you estimate the number of drywall sheets you’ll need for your project.
- Enter the length and height of the wall in feet.
- Input the total floor area of windows and doors combined, as they do not require drywall.
- Specify the size of the drywall sheet in square feet. By default, it is set to 32 square feet which corresponds to a standard 4×8 drywall sheet.
- Click on the Calculate button to see the total wall area, area covered by windows and doors, usable wall area, and the calculated number of drywall sheets needed.
Limitations
- The calculator assumes walls are perfectly rectangular.
- Only standard wall areas are calculated without considering curvature, slopes, or complex geometry.
- Make sure the area specification is realistic, as negative values for the remaining area are not supported.
