This tool helps you estimate your car’s horsepower and torque based on engine parameters.
How to Use the Dyno Estimator
This dyno estimator helps you estimate the horsepower of your engine based on several inputs. Follow these steps to use the calculator:
- Enter the engine displacement in liters.
- Enter the boost pressure in psi (if applicable).
- Enter the volumetric efficiency of your engine. Typical values range from 70% to 100%.
- Enter the engine RPM at which you want to estimate the horsepower.
- Enter the air-fuel ratio (AFR) your engine runs at.
- Enter the boost correction factor. This value is usually between 100% to 110%.
- Press the Calculate button to see the estimated horsepower.
How It Calculates the Results
The calculator uses the following formula to estimate the horsepower:
Corrected Horsepower = (Engine Displacement * RPM * Volumetric Efficiency * Atmospheric Pressure) / 3456 * Total Pressure Ratio * (1 / AFR) * 9.75
The total pressure ratio is calculated by adding the corrected boost pressure to the atmospheric pressure and dividing by the atmospheric pressure.
The corrected boost pressure is calculated by multiplying the boost pressure by the boost correction factor.
Limitations
This dyno estimator is a simplified model and may not provide 100% accurate results for all engine types and conditions. The actual horsepower can be influenced by various factors that are not accounted for in this model, such as environmental conditions, additional engine modifications, and the specific characteristics of your vehicle or engine setup. Use this tool for estimation purposes only.
