This tool calculates the amount of gravel you need in tons based on your project dimensions.
Gravel Calculator
How to Use the Gravel Calculator
To use the gravel calculator, simply input the dimensions of the area you need to cover with gravel (length, width, and depth), as well as the density of the gravel. The default density is set to 1600 kg/m3, but you can adjust it if you know the specific density of the gravel you’re using. Click “Calculate” to see the result in tons of gravel required.
How It Calculates
The calculator computes the volume of the area to be covered by multiplying the length, width, and depth. It then multiplies the volume by the density of the gravel to find the total mass in kilograms. Finally, it converts the mass from kilograms to tons (1 ton = 1000 kg) to give you the final result.
Calculator Limitations
Please note that this calculator assumes a rectangular area and a uniform depth of gravel. Variations in shape or depth are not accounted for in this tool.
