- Number of Days: Enter the number of days you want to estimate ice for.
- Ice Density (lbs/ft³): Enter the density of ice in pounds per cubic feet. Typically, it is around 57.2 lbs/ft³ and is set as the default.
- Cost of Ice per Pound ($): Enter the cost of ice per pound in dollars.
Click on “Calculate” to get the total ice needed, the total volume of ice, and the total cost.
How It Calculates Results
The calculator performs the following calculations:
- Total Ice Needed: It multiplies the daily ice consumption by the number of days to get the total amount of ice in pounds.
- Total Volume: It divides the total ice needed by the ice density to get the total volume in cubic feet.
- Total Cost: It multiplies the total ice needed by the cost per pound to get the total cost in dollars.
Calculator Limitations
This calculator assumes a constant daily consumption of ice and a consistent cost per pound. Any significant variations in daily usage or cost could impact the accuracy of these estimates.
