KYT Calorie Estimator

This KYT Calorie Estimator calculates your daily calorie needs based on your weight, height, age, gender, activity level, and goals (weight loss, maintenance, or weight gain). To use this calculator:

  1. Enter your weight in kilograms.
  2. Enter your height in centimeters.
  3. Enter your age in years.
  4. Select your gender.
  5. Select your activity level from the dropdown menu.
  6. Select your goal (whether you want to lose weight, maintain your current weight, or gain weight).
  7. Click the Calculate button to get your daily calorie estimation.

How It Calculates

The calculator uses the Harris-Benedict formula to calculate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) based on your weight, height, age, and gender. It then multiplies your BMR by your activity level factor to get your maintenance calories.

  • Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR * 1.2
  • Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): BMR * 1.375
  • Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): BMR * 1.55
  • Very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): BMR * 1.725
  • Super active (very hard exercise/sports and a physical job): BMR * 1.9

Based on your goal:

  • For weight loss, 500 calories are subtracted from your maintenance calories.
  • For weight maintenance, your maintenance calories remain as calculated.
  • For weight gain, 500 calories are added to your maintenance calories.

Limitations

This calculator provides an estimate of daily calorie needs, but actual calorie needs can vary based on multiple factors that aren’t considered here, such as muscle mass, health conditions, and metabolic rate variations. Therefore, use these results as guidance and adjust based on your body’s response.
