How to Use the Paint Calculator
To use this paint calculator, enter the length and width of the area you want to paint. If there are any doors or windows in the area, provide the number of each. Click the “Calculate” button to get the total square feet of area to be painted, excluding the area for doors and windows.
How it Calculates the Results
This calculator uses the following formula to compute the total area to be painted:
Total Area = (Length * Width) – (Number of Doors * Average Door Area) – (Number of Windows * Average Window Area)
Where the average door area is 21 square feet and the average window area is 15 square feet.
Limitations
Please note the following limitations of this calculator:
- All dimensions should be provided in feet.
- Only positive numbers should be entered for length, width, doors, and windows.
- The average door and window areas are set to 21 square feet and 15 square feet respectively; actual values may vary.
