How the Calculator Works
The calculator takes the following steps to compute the amount of paint needed:
- Calculates the total wall surface area:
2 × (length + width) × height. - Subtracts the area covered by windows and doors. Windows are assumed to be 15 square feet each, and doors are assumed to be 20 square feet each.
- Multiplies the adjusted wall surface area by the number of coats.
- Divides the final value by the paint coverage to get the number of gallons needed.
Limitations
Please note the following limitations:
