Rewiring Cost Calculator – Estimate Electrical Expenses

This tool will help you estimate the cost to rewire a property.

Rewiring Cost Calculator

This calculator helps you estimate the cost of rewiring your home based on various parameters such as square footage, number of rooms, outlets, switches, wire material, and respective costs.

How to Use

  1. Enter the total square footage of the area to be rewired.
  2. Enter the number of rooms that require rewiring.
  3. Enter the number of electrical outlets to be included.
  4. Enter the number of switches to be included.
  5. Enter the type of wire material (Copper/Aluminum).
  6. Enter the cost per square foot for rewiring.
  7. Enter the cost per room for rewiring.
  8. Enter the cost per outlet.
  9. Enter the cost per switch.
  10. Click the “Calculate” button to see the total estimated cost.

How it Calculates

The total cost is calculated based on the following formula:

Total Cost = (Square Feet * Cost per Square Foot) +
(Number of Rooms * Cost per Room) +
(Number of Outlets * Cost per Outlet) +
(Number of Switches * Cost per Switch) +
                 Wire Material Cost

The wire material cost is a fixed amount of $10 for copper and $5 for aluminum.

Limitations

Please note the following limitations:

  • The calculator assumes uniform cost distribution and does not account for variations in local labor rates.
  • It does not include costs related to upgrading the main electrical panel or other potential hidden costs.
  • Results are an estimate and actual costs may vary.
  • Ensure all input fields are filled correctly and use “Copper” or “Aluminum” for wire material input for accurate results.
