This tool calculates the total square footage of your room based on its dimensions.
How to Use the Room Space Calculator
To find out the space details of your room, input the room’s length, width, and height in meters. Also input how many windows and doors are present in the room. Press “Calculate” to view the results, which include the floor area, total wall area, adjusted wall area considering windows and doors, and the volume of the room.
How the Calculator Works
The Room Space Calculator computes several parameters:
- Floor Area (m²): Calculated as length multiplied by width.
- Total Wall Area (m²): Based on the sum of the areas of each wall, adjusted for the height of the room.
- Adjusted Wall Area (m²): Removes the area occupied by windows and doors from the total wall area.
- Volume (m³): Calculated as length multiplied by width and height.
Limitations
This calculator assumes average sizes for windows and doors as fixed values (1.5 m² and 2 m² respectively). For more precise calculations, use exact dimensions of all structural elements. The calculator does not account for ceiling structures or alcove/spaces other than the main cuboidal form.
