  • File Size (MB): The size of the book file in megabytes.

Then click the “Calculate” button to see the breakdown of the royalties calculations in the results area.

How It Calculates The Results

The calculator uses the following steps to calculate your royalty earnings:

  1. Computes the Printing Cost by multiplying the Number of Pages by the Print Cost per Page.
  2. Computes the Delivery Cost by multiplying the File Size by the Delivery Costs per MB.
  3. Computes the Royalty Earning by multiplying the List Price by the Royalty Rate divided by 100.
  4. Subtracts the Printing Cost and the Delivery Cost from the Royalty Earning if the royalty rate is 70%, for a 35% royalty rate, it only subtracts the Delivery Cost.
  5. If the resulting Net Earning is negative, it is set to 0.

The results are displayed in a detailed table showing all intermediate steps and the final net earnings.

Limitations

The calculator provides an estimate and does not account for other potential fees or costs that may be associated with self-publishing on KDP. Please validate all values used for accurate calculations, and understand that the actual royalty earnings may differ due to factors not considered in this calculator.
