How to Use the Tile Calculator
To use the tile calculator, simply follow these steps:
- Enter the width of a single tile in inches.
- Enter the height of a single tile in inches.
- Enter the width of the area to be tiled in feet.
- Enter the height of the area to be tiled in feet.
- Enter the gap you want between tiles in inches.
- Press the “Calculate” button to see the result.
How the Calculator Works
The calculator first converts the area dimensions from feet to inches. Then, it computes how many tiles are needed along both the width and the height. The result is the product of these two quantities.
Limitations
This calculator assumes uniform tile dimensions and gap widths. It does not factor in possible waste or cutting of tiles at the edges. Additionally, it does not take into account complex area shapes.
