Use this tool to easily calculate the total cost of tiles needed for your flooring project.
How to Use the Tile Cost Calculator
Enter the dimensions of the room in meters, and the dimensions of a single tile in meters. Provide the cost of one tile and an optional wastage percentage that accounts for breakage and cutting. After entering these values, click the “Calculate” button to see results including the total number of tiles needed, considering wastage, and the total estimated cost.
Explanation of Calculations
The calculator computes the room’s total area, then determines how many tiles are required by dividing the room’s total area by the area covered by a single tile. It adjusts the number based on the wastage percentage to account for potential waste. Finally, it multiplies this adjusted number of tiles by the cost per tile to give you an estimate of the total cost.
Limitations
This calculator assumes all the room area can be covered by whole tiles or rounded up to the nearest whole tile to accommodate the area. It does not factor in possible additional costs such as adhesive or professional installation fees. Adjustments should be made according to specific circumstances and requirements.
